88media’s name was inspired by the 88 butterfly, Rebeca’s favorite. The 88 (Diaethria clymena) is found in South American forests. Flipped horizontally, the number 8 becomes the mathematical symbol for infinity: .

Bio
Rebeca Kritsch holds a Master’s degree from Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism and a Master in Public Administration from Harvard University John F. Kennedy School of Government. She was a Reuters Fellow at the University of Oxford. She is also a Fellow at the Royal Geographical Society in the UK.
Her main areas of expertise are environment, global health and the use of Big Data for the good of society. She has pioneered an interdisciplinary communications approach, bringing together environment and health.
Professionally, Rebeca has over 20 years of experience as a journalist and communications manager, working for top publications and leading global organisations. Among her major strengths are her international experience and her vast network in journalism and international development. She has carried out assignments in more than 35 countries, and has visited a total of 51 countries.
She has worked, as staff or consultant, with LexisNexis Risk Solutions, the University of Oxford, the Wellcome Trust, WWF, The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, Plan International, Ashoka Foundation, Article 19, the BBC World Service, O Estado de S. Paulo and Folha de S. Paulo, among others.
